How To Apply

How does it work?
What are Semi-Permanent Tattoos?

Semi-permanent tattoos are an excellent way to enjoy beautiful body art without the long-term commitment of traditional tattoos.

These tattoos use a type of ink formulated to penetrate only the top layer of your skin and not the deeper dermis layer like permanent tattoos. The ink reacts with the outermost cells of your skin, creating a tattoo that can last from one to three weeks, depending on skin type, care, and daily activities.

As your skin naturally exfoliates, the tattoo fades gradually until it disappears.

How to Apply Your Semi-Permanent Tattoo

Before You Start: Preparation is Key

  • Clean Your Skin: Ensure the application area is clean, dry, and free of oils or makeup. Use the Primer wipe(s) provided in your order.
  • Avoid Exfoliation: Do not exfoliate the tattoo area after application to preserve the ink's quality and longevity & premature fading.
  • Hair Removal: Shave the area at least 24 hours before applying the tattoo (optional step, but helps with quality & longevity)
  • Choose the Right Spot: Avoid areas with high friction or excessive bending (like the elbow or knee) to ensure the longevity of your tattoo.

Step-by-Step Application Guide

  1. Prep the Skin:

    • Wipe the skin with the Primer Wipes provided to ensure it's completely clean. Allow the skin to dry completely prior to application.
  2. Apply the Tattoo:

    • Remove the clear protective film from the tattoo.
    • Place the tattoo face down on your skin.
    • Press firmly to ensure every part of the tattoo makes contact with the skin.
  3. Dampen the Tattoo:

    • Soak a cloth in water and press it evenly against the tattoo paper.
    • Hold for about 1-2 mimutes, making sure to moisten the entire paper.
  4. Peel and Reveal:

    • Gently peel away the paper. Do this slowly to ensure the tattoo has transferred effectively.
    • If any parts haven’t transferred, re-wet and press down again for a few seconds.
  5. Dry and Set:

    • Allow your skin to dry naturally. Avoid touching or rubbing the area.

Aftercare Tips: Maximizing Tattoo Longevity

  • Keep it Dry: Keep the tattoo dry for at least 24 hours after application. Avoid showering, swimming, or sweating during this time.
  • Sleeping Tips: During the first night, wear loose, soft clothing over the tattoo to avoid friction while sleeping.
  • Clothing Tips: For the first 24 hours, avoid tight or abrasive clothing that may rub against the tattoo.
  • Moisturize: After 24 hours, lightly moisturize the area daily to keep the skin hydrated.

Fade & Color: What to Expect

  • Color Development: The color of your tattoo will start to develop within 24 hours and will fully mature in 3-4 days. Expect a range from blue/green to dark blue-black, unique to your skin's chemistry.
  • Fade Dynamics: Your tattoo will fade naturally as your skin regenerates. Avoid excessive heat, water exposure, or friction from activities like exfoliation.
  • Placement Considerations: Tattoos placed on hands, wrists, or other high-maintenance areas may fade faster due to frequent washing and friction.

Troubleshooting: Ensuring a Dark, Even Tattoo

  • Even Pressure: Apply consistent pressure when transferring the tattoo to avoid light patches.
  • Adequate Moistening: Make sure the tattoo is thoroughly dampened when applying, but not overly wet.
  • The full shade, color & darkness of the tattoo vary based on your unique skin chemistry, as everyone's skin is different.

Removal

  • Gentle Removal: To remove the tattoo, gently exfoliate the area until the design fades away.

Safety Notes

  • Skin Sensitivity: Discontinue use if irritation or allergic reactions occur.
  • Application: Avoid applying the tattoo to sensitive areas such as the face or near the eyes to prevent irritation. Always test the tattoo on a small patch of skin first to ensure there is no adverse reaction.
